I’m going to be completely honest. I’ve been drunk for the whole of December, and now in January, I am barely piecing the frazzled fragments of my brain and gin-soaked body together. I’ve been twitching in my sleep and even hearing voices. Moral of the story? Don’t party too hard.
But anyway, enough of my excuses of why I haven’t been posting regularly. My policy is that December is the month to be off your rocker 99% of the time, call in sick, be totally irresponsible and generally do whatever you can to get into Santa’s bad books. 😉 But I’m sober and I’m back now…
To kick off my first post of 2014, let’s take a look at some of the forecasted trends that I think will be huge for SS14. I’m certainly excited to start updating my wardrobe.
Colourful Graphics & Big Prints

Prints have been hot for a while now but from the SS14 fashion weeks and trend presentations which happened all around the world, I have a feeling that they’re going to be bigger, brighter and so much louder. Mixing print on print as well as contrasting monochromatic prints…..I sense something huge here.

It’s all about the art! I’ve already been frantically searching ASOS Marketplace, Etsy, Folksy and Ebay on my hangover days for pineapple print pieces. I’m yet to find the perfect tropicana outfit and I am looking forward to styling some creative works of art on a skirt or a top.
The pastel trend is back again. It’s one of the easiest trends to translate from catwalk to highstreet so I am betting on this one being a big hit, especially around festival season. I know dip dye, ombre, Manic Panic’s Bubblegum Pink, Chloe Norgaard and hair pastels have all happened already. But I hope it all makes a comeback for Ibiza 2o14.

Colour forecasting is a load of bollucks if you ask me. There are so many ways of interpreting a trend but you can’t create a new twist on a colour if it doesn’t match your skintone. Pinks and purples I tend to struggle with and I don’t think that’s ever going to change. There’s a lot of talk about Cornflower Blue, Orchid and purples being big this year but who knows whether the world will acknowledge these colours…
I can’t put my finger on why but I think that bright orange really will get noticed this year. I’ve got a feeling that people will see this colour and run with it; hair, nails, lips, eyes, clothing and accessories.
So here are my predictions of what’s going to be hot for SS14! Let me know in the comments if you think any other forecasted trends are going to be huge.
