LFW Trend Spotting with Avenue 32
When American comedian Jimmy Kimmel exposed bogus fashionistas at New York Fashion Week by filming the supposed experts saying, “Chandler Bing, yeah, I love his collection”, I had already started to fall out of love with fashion. But that video (watch it here) pretty much summed up my feelings; if Chandler Bing is designing my wardrobe then Ross Geller is my dad.
But sometimes, it takes simple eyes to dissect the mumbo jumbo that comes with every single Fashion Week. And Avenue 32 has done just that. Stocking both J.W Anderson and Maison Martin Margiela (remember those crazy masks from AW12?), Avenue 32 can always bring me out of my fashion rut, even when I have photoshoots coming out my ears and I can’t bear to hear another person say, “iridescent is sooo now.”
LFW trend spotting with Avenue 32 isn’t as painful as reading a pretentious trend report. In fact, it’s refreshingly straightforward and comes in this bite-sized infographic below…
Trends include stripes and sheers, pretty pleats and soft tailoring, gorgeous sports luxe, the use of big and interesting textures, and the continued love of 60s monochrome. I’m particularly drawn to the Preen by Thornton Bregazzi collection which features stripes layered upon stripes, and also one of my fave colours of the moment; red.
You can see the current AW14 Preen collection online at Avenue 32, which features the colour red heavily just like SS15. See AW14 below…
The amazing AW14 Red Starbox Warrier Dress (£1,085), Lace Annie Dress (£1,735) and Silk Naboo Dress (£1,745) in the image above, are all available to buy now from Avenue 32.
