After interviewing the talented Mulberry Accessories Award Winner, Amy Davidson, I’ve been left feeling completely inspired. Is it too late to back out of a career in fashion PR to start my own fashion doodles instead? I like to think I can do most things I put my mind to but designing a fashion collection isn’t one of them.
One of Amy’s favourite designers is Iris Van Herpen. Looking at Van Herpen’s latest collection, ‘Voltage’, I can see exactly where Amy got her award winning inspiration from. There’s so much attention to detail and that’s clearly a winning formula.
‘Voltage’ aims to portray the tangible movement and power of electricity in the body. Using an alchemist approach to fashion, Van Herpen has embraced creative collaborations such as working with artist Carlos Van Camp and architect Philip Beesley in creating this collection. Sounds nice and pretentious. Not sure I even fully understand the concept. But look at damn collection; it’s effing outstanding.
I hope you find Iris Van Herpen’s collection as inspiring as I do. Now someone please send me to design school!
