I have to get this off my chest. It’s been niggling in the back of my mind for a while now but I’ve never had a reason to speak up until now…
Today, fashion and beauty bloggers seem to be going crazy over Company Magazine’s Super Blogger issue. Who cares? Am I supposed to give a shit because I have a teeny little blog that no-one really reads whilst bigshots like Susannah Lau, what’s-her-face from Park & Cube and that absolute loony, Bip Ling, are basking in blogger glory? I don’t care what Company Magazine thinks so why are people getting so upset? It’s just blogging. Besides, these big dogs are pretty effin’ amazing at what they do and they probably got there first. So fair play to them.
Blogging isn’t a job. It’s not big. It’s not clever. Blogging is just a person with a laptop who worked out how to buy a URL. Don’t get me wrong – I love styling outfits and posting them to whomever will visit my blog (mostly just my mum) but I don’t let it consume every bit of me.
If you think it’s a job or you consider yourself to be a “brand”, you probably need to get a life. Go to the pub or something?
PS) I don’t care who reads this. Because my mum will.
